Hey, Frazzled Urbanites, Rest Your Eyes With Some Peaceful Rural Pics Here are a few snapshots from my neighbourhood. Enjoy! Open gate to a field left wild this year. So tempting to lose oneself in all that luscious green. Sunset from my back yard on a summer evening. What else is there to say! Winter sunrise with light barely making it through the mist. Be careful on the hill behind the house or you’ll take a fast slide down. It’s part of the limestone escarpment that pushes our county up out of Lake Ontario. A couple of calves from the summer pasture herd. When they get to be this size, they act like bumptious teenagers, abandoning mom and knocking about with their peers. Baby barn swallows sleeping in their mud nest until mamma shows up with their next meal. The swan couple that nests every year in my beaver pond. They adore their babies and make a happy flotilla among the reeds. Sky over the woods, cooking up a good ol’ thunderstorm. Laid back horses crop green grass and avoid the patches of thistle. Beyond them is a an old silo where a barn used to be.
